• The Enologica challenge

Together with other six great wines, CorteBianca entered the challenge to be awarded the "best match with pizza" prize.

    Rules of the game:

    - 7 wines from all over Italy:

    • Ernest+Neue. A.A Lago di Caldaro Classico Puntay 2010
    • CorteBianca. Franciacorta Extra Brut Cuvéè CorteBianca
    • Cà Rugate. Soave Classico Superiore Monte Fiorentine 2010
    • Chiarli. Lambrusco di Sorbara Del fondatore 2010
    • Umani Ronchi. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Superiore Casal di Serra 2009
    • Rocca del Principe. Fiano di Avellino 2010
    • Tenuta Fessina. Etna Bianco (carricante in purezza) A’ Puddara 2009

    - 4 (fabolous) pizzas prepared by the renown pizzeria "O'fiore mio" of Faenza (Italy)

    - a first-class parterre of wine-and-food experts: Gianni Fabrizio, Licia Granello, Antonio Boco, Paolo Scarpellini,  Anna Morelli, Alessandro Bocchettini and Vincenzo Pagano.

    - a score sheet to be filled with the best matches

    - a winner

As expected, the prize has been won by Lambrusco, traditionally considered the best match with pizza. However, this has been the first "coming out" of CorteBianca, and seeing our young extra brut competing side by side with some of the most acclaimed and awarded wines around, has given us the idea of its potential and value.

  • A very nice "Giorno" for CorteBianca

The piece is really heartbreaking, and not just because it is quite prominent and included in an extensive page about the Franciacorta region, but above all because of the way the writer, Paolo Galliani, has been able to understand and tell the spirit of CorteBianca. From the almost "movie-like" description of Sergnana, to the chronicle of the presentation day, up to the story of our "heart and life" choice, every single word fill up with pleasure and a little bit of pride too.

Paolo Galliani, "Cortebianca. La magia della piccola Sergnana brinda alla nuova azienda agricola", Il Giorno, 18/11/2011

We believe there is a single and invisible thread that, like an antique lace, links together the people, the animals, the plants, the culture and history of a place, in a deep and harmonic relationship.

Producing wine means for us to follow the connections of this thread, starting from  a corner of the Franciacorta land, amongst sunny vineyards and thick woods, with the dream of preserving and defending a microcosm, fully respecting its original nature and soul.
